THE TALE OF TRISTA HEB SKOVAM

Adapted from a Japanese folk story but transposed to the Westcountry, the ghostly tale of Trista "Heb Skovam" promises to charm, mesmerise, and ultimately horrify audiences through its unique mixture of shadow puppetry, acting and live music. This project has been developed by Four of Swords working with emerging artists from Exeter University and Exeter Northcott Young Creatives.

For over ten years, Four of Swords has been creating relentlessly visceral, vibrant and immersive theatre, film and art projects across the South West. We have specialised in unforgettable site-specific productions, such as this year’s thrilling Medea and Oedipus in Beer Quarry Caves, as well as eclectic community and outreach projects, such as We Love Big Brother, working with people with lived experience of hearing voices (funded by Exeter University & The Wellcome Centre), and Beyond Gaia: Origins, Conclusions and Forever, bringing together diverse communities for a “one night only” spectacular event at Exeter Cathedral, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Suitable for ages 13+ (horror effect) / Running time approx: 45mins
