“The UK’s best female blues soul voice

— The Daily Mirror

Jo is one of Europe’s finest soul/blues singers . She’s  also a multi million streaming, award winning artist with many celebrity fans.

hearing her cover one of my songs was a spiritual experience

– Soul star Michael McDonald

Moreover, she’s sung with the late Motown legend Lamont Dozier, and the iconic Joan Baez.

In an era of over-produced mixes and brazen self promotion, Jo stands out from the crowd. She’s chosen to ignore the mainstream and steer her own path. She relies on meaningful songs sung with raw passion. This explains her enduring appeal,  critical acclaim and buoyant album sales.

In other words she’s the real deal. And it’s given her a loyal soul and blues loving fanbase. Yet Jo isn’t comfortable with any of the labels ascribed to her.

It’s been a joy to have people connect with the music. But to be completely honest I don’t consider myself a blues singer. There is a bit of the blues in what I do, but there is also a whole heap of soul, gospel and country in my sound.” And to clarify, “You know, I’m not fussed about the label. I’m more interested in telling a story. I want to tell my story.”

lip-bitingly beautiful

– Classic Rock

On a personal note, Jo is no stranger to the South West. She was born and raised in rural Devon albeit now living outside the county.

Her song writing and touring schedules do not conform to music industry conventions. Accordingly she records when she has something to say.

Recently she gave birth to twins meaning she’s had her hands full with three young children.

So we count ourselves lucky to book Jo for one of her few live performances this year – so, don’t miss her!
