The work has been directed by award-winning writer and director Nell Leyshon with funding from Arts Council England, BEAF, Activate Performing Arts, Lighthouse Poole.

Scott Lavene is an outstandingly talented musician and performer, who has developed and written a brand new, thought-provoking one-man show for this year’s Bournemouth Emerging Arts Fringe Festival (BEAF).

Moving and truthful, yet witty and laugh aloud funny, the Truth About Men is a fearless exploration of masculinity and fatherhood.

What will he do when he finds out? What kind of man will he become. The good man, the responsible one, stable and safe? The bad man, the deadbeat, the shirker, the rebel. He goes on a musical journey through the canals of England to find the truth about men so he can try and become one.
