James Dean’s signature role and the one that made him a legend. He plays Jim, a troublesome teenager at odds with his parents, in yet another new town and school, and with new friends who are as troubled as he is. Wood and Mineo lend excellent support; it was this film, and the song Rock Around the Clock, that defined both an era and a new generation that would not be stilled.
