James Morton is one of the most exciting saxophonists of his generation. With 18 years of global touring experience under his belt he’s worked with Fred Wesley, Kasabian, Roni Size, and The Herbaliser.
Alex Hutchings is a guitar virtuoso who’s dazzled audiences worldwide. His playing has earned him a massive online following, with nearly 100,000 fans on YouTube. Alex’s dynamic guitar work is a cornerstone of Groove Den’s sound.
Last but not least is Dennis Rollins, a true trombone legend, renowned for his contributions to jazz, funk, and groove music. His work with the Brand New Heavies, Jamiroquai, and Courtney Pine has cemented his reputation as one of the finest players in the UK. Dennis’s expertise and musical energy bring a unique flavour to the band’s explosive sound.
A Unique Fusion of Funk, Jazz, and Soul
Groove Den is the brainchild of James Morton and Alex Hutchings, two of Bristol’s most innovative musicians. When teamed with trombone maestro Dennis Rollins, they create a hard-grooving, high-octane blend of soulful sax, blistering guitar solos, and funky trombone that’s impossible to ignore.
Other members include powerhouse drummer Francesco Mendolia, known for his work with Incognito, and Swedish funk and soul virtuoso Anders Olinder, whose Hammond organ skills have graced stages with the likes of Glen Hughes and Pee Wee Ellis.
