Award winning genre blending Tyneside trio Archipelago take audiences on a journey from lyrical melodies through more experimental moments and back again with great aplomb.

Their music is inspired by musicians as diverse as trumpeter Don Cherry, singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell, and American indie band Morphine.

Bandleader Faye MacCalman (Saxophone/Clarinet/Voice) is joined by John Pope (Bass/FX) and Christian Alderson (Drums/Percussion) in this collaborative line up described as a ‘truly remarkable unit’ by Newcastle’s arts magazine.

Since releasing their debut album ‘Weightless’ in 2017 Archipelago have played extensively across the UK and their music has been played on Tom Robinson’s BBC6 Music show. This year they were selected to play on the BBC Introducing Stage at Latitude Festival, and they have a fast growing reputation for their compelling live performances.
