Lies, subterfuge and murder make this fast-moving thriller a dark and disturbing roller coaster of bluff and double bluff.
Set in France in April 1939, just before WWII, this is a timely play as we celebrate the 80th Anniversary of VE Day.
An English couple, Peter and Suzy, are living in Provence in idyllic isolation, far, it seems, from the rumblings of the coming war. The little money they have comes from Peter’s paintings and Suzy’s work in a local hotel – they are poor, but happy. Until a chance visitor turns their lives upside down and Suzy’s peace is shattered – who can she believe? Do we ever really know someone?
As well as several plays for the theatre, Brian Clemens also wrote extensively for films and TV and was the creator of ‘The New Avengers’ and ‘The Professionals’.
