Blending the historic with the innovative, Lí Ban reimagine genres, stories and sounds from their ancient counties. Delving into Irish mythology and traditions with a revived energy, their most recent release, Rud Nach Léir, spans four different generations of musicians and singers. It remembers old and creates new aspects of traditions from Lough Neagh and the Bann in the ancient province of Ulster in Ireland.
The name Lí Ban is the spirit of the lough itself. Lí Ban, the ‘most radiant of women’, was the legendary mermaid of Lough Neagh.
