Taking audiences by storm is a Prose and Music collaboration between bestselling author Raynor Winn and folk-roots supergroup The Gigspanner Big Band, which features some of the most celebrated names on the British folk scene. Together they have created an emotional odyssey which explores the beauty, stories and traditions of the South West Coast Path.

The vibrant and thought-provoking compositions by Raynor have been especially written for Saltines and artfully wrapped around songs and tunes that were originally gathered from the route of the South West Coast Path by the great song collectors Cecil Sharp and Sabine Baring-Gould.

“Exquisite musicianship and truly soulful music, led by the radiant Raynor Winn, who performs
prose about the sea, nature and love alongside the wonderful Gigspanner Big Band. A must see. A
gorgeous night that sends you out of the Theatre smiling. It’s just what we need right now”

Marianne Elliott OBE Director (War Horse)

This is an unmissable, life affirming experience for anyone who appreciates beautiful words, inspiring music and above all, cherishes the social and natural history of Britain’s coastline, and the common threads that bind its fragile communities and wildlife.

“But the highlight was undoubtedly Saltlines. It played to a standing-room only house…an
evocative and intense triumph”
