Listen to Dr Anjana Khatwa, Honorary Associate, School of Environment, Earth and Ecosystem Sciences at The Open University, as she speaks as part of Lyme Regis' Fossil Festival.

If you listen, can you hear the rocks speak? The question seems absurd. After all, rocks are lifeless, inert, and silent. In The Whispers of Rock: Stories from the Earth, earth scientist Anjana Khatwa will ask us to think again and listen to their stories. Delicately intertwining Indigenous stories of Earth’s creation with scientific thought, she will take you on an exhilarating journey through deep time from the green pounamu in Aotearoa NZ to the fiery volcanoes of Hawai’i. In this unforgettable talk, Anjana will show you how rocks have always spoken to us, and we humans to them.

The talk will be followed by a Q&A and a book signing. This event is 1 hour.
