Their story begins in the early days of UK dance music. As two of the first DJs to move from house into the breakbeat-driven sounds that became Jungle and Drum & Bass, they didn’t just play the music — they created the blueprint. From pirate radio and legendary raves like Fantasia, Biology and Sunrise, to their iconic RAGE residency at London’s Heaven nightclub, Fabio & Grooverider defined an era, pushing boundaries and birthing a sound that would go on to dominate dancefloors worldwide.

As the scene grew, so did their individual legacies. Fabio channelled the soulful and melodic side of Drum & Bass through his acclaimed Speed and Swerve nights, naming & helping shape the “Liquid Funk” sound and nurturing countless vocal-led anthems such as Midnight, Shake Ur Body, and Hide U. Grooverider, meanwhile, carved his own path through the darker, more technical edge of the genre with his Prototype label, with classic releases such as Codename John, and the timeless Mysteries of Funk album.

Together and apart, their output helped define every era of Drum & Bass — from jungle’s raw beginnings to the present-day diversity of liquid, tech, minimal, jump-up, and halftime styles. Their support has been pivotal to the rise of artists like Goldie, Calibre, Bailey, Dillinja, High Contrast, Pendulum, Sigma, and countless others who credit them as a driving force in their careers.

SUPPORT COMES FROM…

SUV

As a crucial member of the respected original FullCycle, V recordings and Reprazent Stables, SUV has undoubtedly contributed his fair share to Drum n bass and definitely to the sound of Bristol. He was a member of the seminal Bristol trip hop group FRESH FOUR who, in 1989, burst onto the scene with Smith n Mighty and the first ever Triphop track to have major success, ‘Wishing On A Star’. Always enjoying influences worldwide on his travels, SUV is well renowned for mixing world cultures, language and styles, bringing us that much closer together. He has never stopped releasing DnB on his own label Play Side and is also currently releasing a link to the brand-new sound of NattyDub recordings, RampUp, JungleCakes and WolfClan just to mention a few.

SONNY MAKEPEACE

With his productions being played across dance floors worldwide, SE London based up & comer ’sonny makepeace’ curates sets exploring the genres that inform the music he creates. Expect a set that traverses through genre, from 2-step garage, grime and UK funky rhythms, to bass ridden breakbeats and jungle.

CONTINENTAL DRFIT

WITH FELON MC AS HOST

Since winning “Best Breakthrough MC” at the 2014 Drum & Bass Awards, Felon has become a regular fixture on the scene’s biggest and most exclusive stages, regularly working with the upper echelon of selectors. As well as his many, many sets rolling out with legends Fabio & Grooverider, he’s hosted for Andy C, Goldie, and pretty much any other DnB god you could name.

Discovering the craft in the late nineties – when original-generation crowd-hyping hardcore emcees were sharing stages with the new double-time rhymers like Skibadee and, later, Eksman – Felon always saw both elements of the craft as equally essential. The balance of hosting and bars, the ability to command a crowd as well as spit lyrics, was central to the style that he developed and why he’s been able to bridge the gap between sounds and sub-genres so effortlessly.

Having performed for audiences all over the world, including multiple tours of Australia, several Glastonbury appearances, bookings in South Africa, the USA, Thailand and many more, Felon has proven himself as one of the scene’s top tier mic men many times over the last decade.
