Spanning 50 years, director John Ford's How Green Was My Valley revolves around the life of the Morgans, a Welsh mining family, as told through the eyes of its youngest child Huw (Roddy McDowall).

Of the seven classic films (okay, six and a near-miss) Ford made between 1939 and 1941, this was the one to win the Oscar for Best Picture – and in the year of Citizen Kane to boot. This famous story of a Welsh mining family, seen through the eyes of its youngest member, is a superlative piece of collaborative film making that is as moving as it is entertaining.

Includes a brief introduction by Hollywood-raised film historian Karol Kulik.
