The play for this group: Headless, by Colin Dowland
Award-winning playwright and Primary School Headteacher, Colin Dowland, has written a hilarious farce about a school whose Headteacher has sought refuge in a bottle of whisky rather than face the wrath of Ofsted, leaving his hapless staff to pick up the pieces. Some of us looked at this play last year but we didn’t get to the end, and Colin has since re-written parts of the play with the Marine Theatre in mind.
A Message from the organiser Chris Gill
For some years, people have gathered at the Marine Theatre to read through plays of all kinds and we want to continue this tradition in 2023. We are setting up a monthly reading on the second Monday of each month and the first three represent a wide range of ideas from new plays to Shakespeare. If you want to get involved, either as an active reader or just to listen to others, get yourself a free ticket. This will guarantee you a place and also provide you with an e-version of the play we will be reading so you can make your decision about how you want to contribute.
We are keen to encourage anyone interested in drama to participate. If you have any ideas about do readings of future plays, please contact Chris Gill through the Marine Theatre by emailing email@example.com
