Rachel Lawrence on accordion and vocals is a Bristol-based composer and performer, renowned for her work with swing band the Gin Bowlers. She has captivated audiences at many prestigious festivals and international stages, showcasing her unique musical style and original compositions. Completing the band are Gus Dolding on guitar and clarinet, and Bill Frampton on double bass and harmonica.

“Refreshing, playful and fun”

– Tom Robinson

Around About Dusk have absolutely nailed that charming French café musette sound thanks to Gus Dolding’s sinuous clarinet, judicious swirling accordion from Rachel Lawrence and an all-round proper sense of swing. They also have ‘jaunt’ aplenty, whether in the intricate arrangements, economic soloing or insouciant lyrics delivered with Rachel’s easy grace, helped by a nice mix of two-step, waltz and tango grooves” Bristol 24/7

Haunting melodies, tightly laced harmonies and rich vocals weave stories about wonder and nature with echoes of cabaret, chanson, early jazz and folk shifting around like growing shadows. Could be a new favourite band for you “ Steve Henwood, Glastonbury Festival
