A Historical Fashion Talk and Demonstration – 20th Century (from 00s to 50s)
There will be a focus on Channel, Dior, Normal Hartnell and Hardy Amies. It is followed by a Q&A and the opportunity to explore the costumes on show.
During the 1900s, women’s liberation, wars and historic achievements, contributed to the changing style of clothing worn. This talk and demonstration of ‘re-makes’ will span the era from 1900 to the 1950s where we see the removal of the corset to the introduction of the everyday bra. The length of skirts/dresses for women become the shortest and longest for a long time.
The talk will be about an hour long, followed by a Q&A and the opportunity to explore the costumes on show
