A brand-new programme from the Marine Theatre, this free 10 week course explores the world of backstage, providing Young Creatives with the first step into the music and theatre industry. The Marine Theatre is delighted to launch a Young Technicians’ Course with all places free of charge. This 10 week course will give 16 to 25 year olds practical experience across lighting, sound, and stage management, leading up to a final show. Led by five experts from the music industry and theatre, this is the perfect platform to launch a career in the arts.

Experienced actor Billy Geraghty leads a 10 week Stage and Screen Acting class starting in January 2022. The term will explore techniques for theatre acting and how to adapt them for camera. We offer participants the opportunity to perform short scenes - both on stage and for the camera, with a public sharing at the end of the course using the theatre's cinema screen. You’ll learn about the differences when performing for the stage and screen, alongside tips and tricks for self taping at home, audition help and even how to operate the technical equipment.
