Community Play Meeting

Sunday 29 October 2023

The Marine Theatre’s community play is back in June 2024 and we're having an informal get together to tell you all about it. The play will be an irreverent, modern-day blast through Shakespeare’s most popular comedy, interwoven with nuggets of Lyme’s history, and told by the community, for the community.

Our new Community Play for 2024: ‘A Midsummer Lyme’s Dream’ by Andrew Rattenbury.

For the community and starring the Community.

All are welcome to come and act, sing, or simply bang a drum. Or maybe you’d prefer to help out backstage, with stage management, costumes or props. No previous experience necessary, just come along and feel a part of one of the highlights of the theatre’s year.

The first informal meetings will take place at 1pm on Sunday 29 of October at the Marine theatre and also on Monday 30 at 7pm. Both of these meetings will last roughly an hour. The auditions will take place later in November (26 and 27) so there is no pressure if you can’t make it to the meetings.

If you’ve been involved in previous community plays, we’d love to see you again. If not, come along and experience this once in a lifetime event.

The more the merrier!
