A Nightingale Sang in Marine Square
The Marine Theatre is stepping back in time to the sound of air raid sirens and wartime rationing as the nation marks the 100th birthday of the ‘Forces Sweetheart’ Dame Vera Lynn.
A Nightingale Sang in Marine Square with Dame Vera tribute singer Samantha who has the title role in ‘The Vera Lynn Story’ currently touring the UK, opens with a complimentary drink served in the Officers’ Mess and the Theatre Bar will remain open all evening. Your ration picnic bag will be provided by the Wrens & other NAAFI staff.
With cheerful wartime songs, this centenary celebration is set to be a night to remember and we hope you will enter into the spirit of things and come along dressed in uniform or 1940s dress. Colmers Hill Fashion based at Symondsbury Manor Yard near Bridport will be able to help you find the perfect outfit and is offering a 10% discount to all ticket holders.
This Fund Raiser will have you singing and dancing the night away, so pack up your troubles in your old kit bag and head down to the Marine!
