Everyone is also invited to join in the celebratory farewell to the Story Boat and its candlelit procession from the Marine to the Cobb on Monday 18 December. From 5.30 pm, the Marine Bar will be open with warming mulled wine and live music from the Story Boat.
The procession will start at 6.30pm, heading from the theatre along the Cart Road to the Cobb, arriving at the harbour around 7.15pm at the Harbour Inn.
About The Story Boat
The Story Boat has been resident outside the Marine Theatre in Lyme since
September. It was created by traditional boat builder Gail McGarva from an
upturned Dorset fishing boat and filled with recorded memories of the fishing
community, and has been a much admired attraction for theatregoers, locals and tourists alike. It has been the site for a residency by Gail, with occasional music, theatre and storytelling events.
The Story Boat project is supported by the Arts Council, West Dorset District Council, The Trusthouse Charitable Foundation, G.F Eyre Trust and local sponsors.
