CINEMA | TUESDAY NIGHT AT THE MOVIES: A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS | TUESDAY 23 APRIL

Our regular night of iconic movies continues with Frank Zinnemann’s film about Henry VIII, which won 6 Oscars.

Henry VIII needs a new wife and heir; Sir Thomas More, the new Catholic Lord Chancellor, has to weigh his conscience against his life. Commercially and critically successful – it had 6 Oscars and 6 Baftas – A Man for All Seasons remains so vibrant because it is a near-perfect amalgam of writing, costume design, cinematography and, above all, acting.
