Four comics perform in this great value night, headlined by the lead actor from I Daniel Blake alongside Karen Bayley, Dan Thomas, and Tom Glover
Dave Johns famously played the lead in I Daniel Blake, Ken Loach’s critically acclaimed and multi award winning film, which won the much coveted Palme D’or at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. For the same role he won a Bafta.
As well as an actor, he’s a celebrated comic who has made guest appearances on many television programmes, including Never Mind the Buzzcocks, 8 Out of Ten Cats and The Football’s On. Dave is one of the most respected and best loved stand up comics working on the British comedy circuit, and is an accomplished stage actor and improviser.
Dan Thomas is also on the bill and has been performing as a stand up since 2005. Dan now performs across Britain, regularly performing in high profile venues as The Glee Club, Highlights, The Comedy Store, Komedia among others. He has also made appearances at several festivals including Green Man.
Dan supported Russell Kane on his national tour of the Perrier Award winning show “Smokescreens and Castles” and will also tour with Russell on his upcoming “Manscaping” tour. As well as stand up, Dan works as a TV warm up artiste for several shows, including Channel 4’s Deal Or No Deal. Dan has also appeared on ITV’s “Houseguest” and BBC Wales “Funny Business”.
Karen Bayley made a name for herself by reaching the semi-final of the prestigious BBC New Comedy Awards and was later crowned the winner of the 2001 Komedia New Act prize. She was the first female winner of the Comedy Store King Gong award and reached the finals of both the BBC New Comedy Awards Showcase and Babycham Funny Women.
