Polly Josephine evokes the emotion and dynamism of the great blues and jazz singers and the euphoria of soul and gospel. She brings alive the sophisticated lyrics of the likes of Cole Porter as sung in the smooth jazz tones of Ella Fitzgerald, the intense atmosphere of Nina Simone and the sheer joy of Etta James and Aretha Franklin’s soul! With a mixture of the best 1930’s and 40’s sultry jazz, uplifting 60’s soul and moody blues, she transmits her own depth of feeling and excitement to the audience through the music she loves, with stylish piano accompaniment from Philip Clouts.

“Polly transports the audience to the smoky Jazz club atmosphere with her rich, chocolaty voice and relaxed performance. She hits every note with ease and makes it all seem effortless, which is a mark of a great talent.” Scott Haynes, Music in Oxford

Charlie + Jake are a Bristol based vocal and piano/bass duo, combining soulful originals with well loved jazz standards. Mixing powerful vocals with melodic improvisations they present stories of love, friendship and a sense of place.

They will be showcasing original songs from their upcoming EP, scheduled for release in early 2018, as well as a selection of popular jazz classics. After performing at the Lyme Regis Jazz and Blues Weekend this year, Charlie + Jake can’t wait to be back in Lyme – a place that has always been close to their hearts.
