JSLN Dance Company is an international neo classical ballet company, founded in 2012 by Artistic Director Sören Niewelt and Principal Dancer Jessica Larbig.

Variations of Pointe II is a new triple bill program. It includes stunning Repertoire Ballet, a hilarious new age twist inspired by Austin Powers as well as Niewelt’s new and breathtaking neo-classical creation ”Consequential Gaps”. The dancers come from Scotland, England, Ireland, France, Hungary and Germany.

In the first part the audience will see sections of famous, yet not widely seen classics such as ”Le Spectre de la Rose”, ”La Péri” and ”La Sylphide”.

The second part of this production will show that Ballet does not have to be bland. Inspired by the Austin Powers movies, this new age comedy ballet combines classical technique with fun characters to entertain and introduce new dance audience to ballet.

Niewelt’s newest creation ”Consequential Gaps” finalizes the triple bill. The great composers accompany this new extravagant yet breathtakingly clean masterpiece.

The further they get from home, the closer they get to confronting the demons of their shared past. It’s a show about truth, friendship, the fragility of memory and coming of age in the 1990s.
We’re excited to be working with Elliot Manches on projection design, Tom Ball on a thrilling original soundtrack, Yoon Bae on set and costume design, Zoe Spurr on lighting design and of course Matt Lewellyn Smith our stage manager who gets involved with everything.
With humour, slick physicality, an original contemporary soundtrack and video projection developed at the Marine Theatre.

Two men recklessly attempt to confront the absurdity of war in just 35 minutes, using their bodies, their voices and the surrealist toolbox of DADAism. Playful, physical and blackly comedic, their new show SLAPSTICK & SLAUGHTER examines how the barbaric chaos of World War One manifested itself in the nihilistic, nonsensical art that grew from it.

Desperate Men Street Theatre splatters big ideas on a small canvas, exploring art’s reaction to the war’s wholesale destruction of lives, the old order and old hypocrisies and finding echoes in equally absurd modern conflicts.

…did you know that Astronauts get taller in space? That our solar system is around 4.6 billion years old? Or that there are more stars in the universe than grains of sand on all of the beaches on Earth?

Amira knows all of these things. She is completely obsessed with space and dreams of becoming an Astronaut. But one night, the bangs, whooshes and fizzes of her imagination explode right out of her dreams, becoming a deafening reality. In the darkness, Amira must leave her hometown to go on an adventure, to find a safe space. Hearing the words ‘space’ and ‘adventure’, Amira quickly packs her bag for the intergalactic trip she’s been waiting for…
