SGT PEPPER'S LOVE-IN AT LYME

With The Beatles “Love” album riding high in the charts, 2007 looks set to be a year full of Fab Four nostalgia.

The immortal lines: “It was twenty years ago today, Sgt. Pepper taught the band to play” first hit the airwaves in 1967, which was also the year of “The Summer of Love”. To celebrate the fortieth anniversary of “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”, one of the UK’s most respected Beatles acts, will be performing the entire album live at the Marine Theatre, Lyme Regis, on Saturday 17th March.

Following their successful appearance at the Marine in 2005 with the “Abbey Road” show; Sgt. Pepper’s Only Dart Board Band return in a spectacular which is currently touring all over the UK. The show reaches its peak in June with performances scheduled at the Glastonbury Festival and Liverpool’s Cavern Club. After performing the album in full, the Dart Board Band will complete the event with Beatles hits from every phase of the Fab Four career.

Sgt. Pepper’s Only Dart Board Band recently celebrated ten years as tributeers . Their past performances have been acclaimed from the Cavern to Krakow, not only for their astonishingly accurate live renditions of songs The Beatles themselves sometimes never actually performed on stage, but also for their irreverent, Beatle-like wit. Complete with Pepper costumes, and including the good Sergeant himself on keyboards, the band is amongst the most entertaining on the circuit. They are the only tribute band in the world whose career has been commemorated in a commercially released biography entitled “Being John Lennon” written by the band’s Martin Dimery. The book is an hilarious account of their early years, and is to be followed up by a second volume called “The Tragical History Tour”, which will be released exclusively as an audio book by American record label CTW.

Tickets are available in advance and on the door from the Marine Box Office on: 01297 442138
