The Marine Theatre couldn’t believe their luck when they heard that John Kirkpatrick was available to fill the sizeable gap left by the cancellation of the Sharon Shannon concert on 28 April at 8pm. The Marine Theatre hadn’t wanted to let down all the fans of the squeeze box and so they rang John’s agent, were delighted that he was free and managed to persuade him to play that night. He is rightly known as “one of the finest squeezebox players in Christendom. An outstanding singer, a notable songwriter” by FOLK ROOTS who also go on to say “John Kirkpatrick: he’s in a class of his own for the life he instills into whatever issues from his squeezeboxes”  The theatre rang several people who have tickets for Sharon’s concert and all of them said they’d definitely still come to hear John and his squeezebox.
