HERE'S A HOW-DE-DO! 23/03/07

Chard Light Operatic Society is coming to the Lyme Regis Marine Theatre with their original musical evening “Here’s a How-De-Do” on Thursday April 5th at 7.30 p.m. Howard Earl of Lyme Regis Operatic Society said “I was delighted to hear about this venture, and all of us at the Lyme Operatic Society wish them well. We are looking forward to coming to what sounds like a very lively evening. We ourselves are preparing for our Mikado from 15 to 19 May, also at the Marine Theatre, but will find time to take in Chard’s delightful medley of numbers.”

With over 40 voices taking a topsy turvy visit into the world of Gilbert & Sullivan, featuring well known  songs and some surprising gems. Andy Webster from Chard Light Operatic said “You’ll meet your favourite characters in unexpected situations, all drawn together with a nonsensical storyline worthy of Gilbert at his best.” Including songs from Princess Ida, The Mikado, Pirates of Penzance, The Gondoliers, Ruddigore, The Sorcerer, Patience, Iolanthe, Yeoman of the Guard and Utopia.

Tickets will be on sale from Lyme Regis Tourist Information Centre on 01297 442138, Adults £7 / U16 £5.
