From family quizzes to a chance to say “Thank you for the Music” there’s something for everyone this week at the Marine Theatre, Lyme Regis.
The Lifeboat week family quiz was so popular they had to put out extra tables and chairs to squeeze everyone in, all keen to take part in the special quiz laid on by TheatreFriends to raise funds for their favourite theatre. Questions from “Which Teletubbie carries a handbag?”
to “Which Prime Minister was famous for her handbag!?” to “Which play contains the famous line ”In a Handbag?”” kept all the family on their toes, and this next quiz promises to be just as challenging, and just as much fun, Come along and buy your tickets at the door, no need to book. £2.00 for adults, £1.00 for U 16s.

RED HOT ABBA captures the sounds of ABBA lyrically, visually and musically. They include many of the favourite hits we fondly remember today... 'Waterloo', 'Dancing Queen', Name of the Game', 'Chiquititta' and 'Money Money Money'..Red Hot Abba has been astounding crowds with the hits, the harmonies and the costumes, and have earnt their reputation as one of the most authentic tributes of ABBA ever seen and heard. This is followed by ITS ELECTRIFYING which is an opportunity to hear versions of songs from the 70's smash hit movie “Grease”. Brilliant singers performing hits such as 'Summer Lovin', 'Look at me I'm Sandra Dee', 'There are worse things I could do' and 'We go together'. Come along and sing along, then party on. RED HOT PARTY is a live show with vibrant dancers, superb vocalists, costume changes and a live non-stop band performing hits from the 60's, 70's and Motown including 'Carwash', 'Good Times', 'Boogie Nights', 'Young Hearts', 'Love Train' and lots more disco classics to boogie down to. Hooray for Hollywood on 12 August at 8.00 pm is our evergreen pantomime society’s terrific summer show, with singing, dancing and comedy. The audience had a marvellous time earlier this summer when the show played for two nights at the theatre and if the carnival audience is looking for a great night out they will not be disappointed. Tickets will be available from Country Stocks in Broad Street or at the door £5.50 for adults and £2.50 under 14s. This is a show featuring our local stars who have made the Lyme Regis Pantomime Society’s summer show a must for many visitors.
