This play for children of all ages is based on Mo Willems enormously popular book of the same name and retains the child centered energy that made the book one of the Guardians favorites in a recent survey. Margie Barbour, the theatre’s Artistic Director who directed Jackanory and PlaySchool for BBC children’s TV before coming to Lyme said “Adapting books for television or stage is not easy and this company has found a very inventive and creative way to present this classic tale; the costumes and set are captivating and the  performances get the youngsters on the edge of their seats, it makes it a perfect play for children.” The Big Wooden Horse Company has toured this enchanting play to many theatres and children everywhere have joined in with gusto, carried away by the delightful story and the enormously engaging dilemma, will the pigeon be allowed to drive the bus?
